Cook Eat Wash Repeat

Good morning! :D

Here is my take on Inspiration Wednesday #2 - iw 1.21.15 with Donna Downey.

I started my background with Liquitex modeling paste and a text stencil from Dina Wakley.

Over the modeling paste I did some glazing with a yellow (Hansa Yellow Light) and dark blue (Ultra marine blue) Golden fluid acrylic paint.

Then on with the collage. This part was sooo much fun. :D I used a tag, tissue paper from T. Holtz, old book paper, thickers, the ungessoed inclusion, corrugated paper, a border from Bacil Basics and other left over scraps. Love it! :)

... almost wanted to leave it like this. ;)

... but I went on with the workshop, took out my palette knife and modeling paste and started covering it all up. Which is kind of cool as well, when everything kind of melts together with the background.

Did some splatter with Liquitex India Ink... always hard to control where the splatters end up. ;)

Covered some of the ones I didn't like with gesso. :P

Did a third glace with Magenta over the collage/modeling paste and kept some of the paint... so it is just a hint of pink...

Used a scrap from one of my Sodalicious papers, the banner with the name of the paper...

Isn't this kind of a big part of life: Cook Eat Wash Repeat? & Repeat? ;)

And at last a yummy close up of all the texture with all the layers of paper and modeling paste. :D Yum!

Have a great day, peeps!

45 möh

Good morning! :D

To reach your goals, you need to challenge your fears and climb up high!

In the summer of 2013 I joined the crew of the Swedish Ship Götheborg for two weeks, on the first leg of the Tall Ship Race in the Baltic sea. An amazing experience! :)

This is my inspiration, a scraplift challenge over on the Sodalicious blog.

I was inspired by the black lines and the black square, the torn up book paper in the corners, the orange photo underlay combined with the blue circles. :) Oooo... and also the numbers. A lot of inspiration.

First I added  some tissue paper with text on, on the corners of a Sodaliciuos paper, with mod podge.

Then I added some orange and yellow paint with Liquitex Acrylic Markers in a square where I wanted the photo... and some on the corners as well, to give the layout balance.

There are a lot of lines on the photo, with all the ropes from the sails... I used a ruler to draw those ropes out from the photo, continuing onto the paper. This gives a depth to the whole layout, I think. :)

I also doodled some squares on and around the photo.

I decorated with wooden like thickers, some rope twine and blue brads - to keep the nautical feeling.

Have a great day! :D

Eh?

So the Inspiration Wednesday workshop has gone live...

... and this is my take on the first week.

A quote I have been loving, and thinking about using for quite some time now. :)

And the inclusion.

IW stands for Inspirations Wednesday, and #iw2015 is the hashtag for this workshop on Instagram and other social media. Go check it out! My instagram account is: @PyssligaSara.

The back of the inclusion - with the classic Donna Downey date tag. You've got to have it! :)

Donna Downey has an inclusion in between the pages in her art journal. Like it or not, you'll have to work with it and learn to love it. ;) Here is a video where she talks about her journal and why there is an inclusion.

I started the page by adding texture with modeling paste and a pallet knife.

Then I added my quote with thickers.

I have a thought with this workshop, except from learning a lot and evolving in my artistry... to use up some of my scrapbook stash. Don't you all have quite a big stash of scrapbook supplies? I know I do! ;)

I covered the letters with gesso, because I wanted to have them in the same color. I also added some more texture, with modeling paste and a dotted mask.

Then I did two color glazings over them, one in Quinacridone Magenta and one in Teal. Love! :D ...but I still wanted the quote to stand out some more.

So I did some doodling around the letters...

...and took yellow paint on my finger and gave the page a little stroke. I also used Distress Ink Vintage Photo on the edges and on some of the texture to bring them out as well.

Let this year of 2015 be a year filled with more creativity, inspiration and Wednesdays. ;)

Inspiration Wednesday

Hi! :)

When I first started art journaling I found a lot of inspiration, and learned a lot, from Donna Downeys Inspiration Wednesday videos that she posted once a week for free.

And now she brought them back, for a small membership cost, and I joined in! Eeek! :) This is soo exciting!

I bought my journal from Donna and I've added an extra signature to my journal, since the workshop is for 25 weeks. Love how thick it feels now, can't wait to feel it when it's all filled up with 25 Inspiration Wednesdays. Yum! :)

I've added the second signature with the help from this video, and I used a purple ribbon. :) Cute!

A detail of the journal - the luscious fabric covered button. Love the colors - Orange, green, pink and teal. :)

My journal is ready, and I'm ready to start this artistic journey. Bring it on! :)
